What is Menopause?

Menopause marks the first anniversary of a women’s last period (Hello, period-free months for life!)

It is a sign that her ovaries have stopped producing eggs, and she’s now in the next innings of her life!

Menopause usually occurs when a woman is between 40 and 50 yrs, with 51yrs being the average age.

What are the stages of Menopause?

  • Perimenopause
    This phase prepares your body for menopause.
    You will experience changing hormone levels and get your periods! (So, you can still get pregnant!)
    This phase usually begins 8-10 yrs before you hit menopause.
  • Menopause
    This is usually a day that marks the first anniversary of your last menstrual period.
    Most women who achieve menopause are over the age of 50 years.
    Contrary to the popular belief that menopause is a day, it is indeed a phase.
    Your menopausal symptoms may be at its peak.
  • Postmenopause
    No More periods for good.
    You can no longer get pregnant.
    Hormonal levels are minimal but have stabilised.
    Menopausal symptoms become less prominent.
